I absolutely hate getting my hair done! Well, that might have got your attention... 🙂 I haven't been for a hair cut in over two years... as I've had quite a few bad experiences in the past. *In fairness I do have very thick and naturally curly/fizzy hair... but I always explain this over the phone before booking any hair appointment* I found this place online, I noticed that they offer a new client discount also, which was a big bonus. I phoned on a whim and nothing was too much trouble. I got booked in for a free consultation and a patch test... the very same day!... (The other place's that I've been to previously, didn't offer a consultation... which now makes so much sense... as the hairdresser can get a real feel for your hair... to see what will and won't work on your hair) I was met with a lovely hairdresser called Sarah. I showed her my hair and I said "I'm really going to go on trust here... I'd like a balayage colouring, I don't want high maintenance hair, I'd like for it to look fairly natural and to blend in with my greys. Please cut off as much as you think needs cutting off." I was booked in super fast, I returned after 2 day's for my hair appointment. Again, nothing was too much trouble... you're really made to feel right at home... The team that I met, were all very lovely and kind. The coffees were on point! I struggle with anxiety and ADHD. I usually hate the entire experience at a salon... as it really takes alot for me to pluck up the courage... and venture in to a new place like this. These worries and concerns, quickly evaporated as you just know that you're in very capable and understanding hands. Sarah really listened to what I wanted... (even though I was very vague and pretty clueless.) She just nailed it! 🙂 She could just see what would work and just did it. Which takes alot of skill. I couldn't recommend Sarah and this hair salon enough! Thank you soo much.

Always a pleasure to visit PG, Sarah always gets it right, offers suggestions and listens. You can sit and be quiet or enjoy a friendly chat, never any pressure for conversation if you don't want it. The salon is always immaculate and welcoming.

I love coming here. After three disappointing haircuts elsewhere in Harrogate I was delighted to find PG and especially Sarah. Sarah is efficient, quick, and doesn’t mind that I’m really quiet and have long periods between haircuts - though my hair can get very long and thick!

Amy has been colouring my hair for years. The reason being, is that she's excellent at what she does and a joy to around. A great listener and a naturally intuitive and talented hairdresser. I'd highly recommend her! ✨
